The Little Match Girl

I have been trying, especially since entering the style blog culture, to experiment with complimentary colors, pattern mixing & overall mis-matching. I am continuing to learn the benefits of color tone & value play, weight mixing and re-conceptualizing shapes (i.e. short dress over a long dress, etc.). I strive for more interesting outfits over more predictable ones.

BUT...

inevitably my color-coordination-lovin' DNA kicks back at me once in awhile. Today is one of those days.

dress & long sleeved tee: Target, belt: Charlotte Russe, mustard sweater vest: Worthington, navy tights: Gap, mary-janes: Dansko, owl earrings: Forever21, nail polish: Urban Outfitters ~ PURPLE 1.

I would also like to introduce you to a feature of As Good As Her Petals, called "Forget-Me-Nots". The purpose of this feature is to revisit wardrobe pieces (of some substantial gravity to an outfit), in this case the mustard vest, and to remember other ways that the item/s have been worn in past posts - for reference. Like an index. Enjoy!
